Yesterday, we celebrated the Lunar New Year and learned all about how people in China celebrate. We watched a video about different foods and traditions in China during the new year, and we also watched a video of a special Chinese parade with a dragon in it! Then, we rotated in different stations with Ms. Sarah’s preschool class! We used chopsticks to pick up M&M candies, colored Chinese New Year pictures, and worked on making a dragon! Then, we went on a parade around the hallway with our dragon! Happy New Year!
On Friday, we were lucky enough to have a resource trunk from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources! We were able to observe and touch/feel different animal furs and pelts from a coyote, opossum, beaver, raccoon, skunk, mink, and squirrel! We used measuring tools such as rulers and measuring tape to measure the furs and pelts, and we also drew observations that we made!
