This week, we began our new unit on Things that Grow! As part of this unit, we planted our own Lima beans at school! We only used a paper towel soaked in water, a ziploc bag, and a Lima bean. We placed them on the windows for them to get sunlight! We will be observing the Lima beans over the upcoming weeks at school, and documenting any change in our science journals!

As part of our unit on Shadows and Reflections, we used mirrors to create our own self-portraits! These preschoolers used mirrors to see their reflections and they drew what they saw onto paper.
This week, our story in Religion was the story about Jesus sharing bread and fish to feed a large crowd of people. This week, we all brought in our own snacks to create our own class “sharing snack!” We talked about the importance of sharing and being kind, and we combined all of our snacks to make one big sharing snack! What a fun and yummy way to learn about being kind.
Yesterday at school, we made our own Leprechaun traps! We sketched/planned our traps on paper, then worked in teams to build the traps! When we got to school today, we were surprised to see that a wild Leprechaun had visited our classroom overnight and made a huge mess!! He also left us a note and some special chocolate coins. Today we also graphed Lucky Charms cereal! We graphed the marshmallows to see which one we had the most of, and then enjoyed or yummy treat. What a fun day! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Today at school, we celebrated Mardi Gras! We taste tested blueberry and strawberry paczkis and voted on our favorite. It was close, but strawberry won! After this, we went on our own Mardi Gras parade in the hallway with Ms. Sarah’s class, Kindergarten, and 1st grade! We wore special Mardi Gras masks and danced to jazz music. We had so much fun!!
As part of “Read Across America Day,” we all shared our favorite books together! We had so much fun learning about our buddies’ favorite reads. Then, we took some time to relax and read our favorite books! Later, we had a Dr. Seuss celebration with Ms. Sarah’s Preschool class! We colored special Dr. Seuss drawings, made our own Thing 1-20 hats, and built “Cat in the Hat” hats using paper and cups! What a fun day.
After reading Dr. Seuss’s book “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” we graphed our own goldfish crackers! After eating them, we colored in the boxes to see which color we had the most of. What a fun and yummy activity!
