With Mexican Independance Day coming up on September 16th, we decided to make some school decorations! We made our own sombreros by glueing different shapes randomly or in patterns onto our sombreros. Then, we danced together as a class to some Mariachi music!

This week in preschool, we've been reading the book "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" and learning more about the letters in our alphabet and names! Today, we even made our very own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Coconut tree hats. Also, here's our favorite Chicka Chicka Boom Boom read aloud/song! These preschoolers love singing it every day. Father Dan stopped by to bless us and our classroom! We are looking forward to a school year filled with happiness, health, and joy.
As another way to practice recognizing and writing our first names, we used dot stampers to trace our names! These preschoolers did a great job staying on the lines of their letters. Learning how to recognize and write your name is a vital part of Preschool. This week, we've been focusing on the first initial of our first names! Today, we used stickers to trace the first letters of our names! We used glue for the first time at school! Being able to hold a glue bottle and use it effectively is an important preschool skill. When we use glue, we say "Dot, dot. Not a lot" to remind us not to use too much glue! To practice, we glued pieces of yellow paper onto pineapples for some fun, tropical classroom decorations! |
