For day 3 of our countdown, we focused on the letter C! We did "C is for colors." These preschoolers got to paint using many different colors, and even mixed some of the colors to create new ones! What a colorful bunch.

Following along with our current unit, "Things that Grow," we decided to make our "B day" all about babies! We read the story, "Bigger," which talks about a growing baby, and then we discussed how babies grow! Then, these preschoolers paired up and did a "Think, Pair, Share" together to discuss things they used to do as a baby vs. things they do now that they are kids. We have been making the most of this beautiful Spring weather we have been having! I love watching these preschoolers play and interact with their buddies. With the end of the school year quickly approaching, we have begun our ABC countdown until Summer Vacation! Each day, we will focus on a different letter of the alphabet and do a corresponding activity. Today, we did the letter A. We chose to do "A is for Animals!" We then discussed different animals and made a class animal list. Then, each preschooler got to draw a picture of their favorite animal. Summer, we're coming for ya! As part of our "Things that Grow" unit, we planted our own Lima beans! Before planting the beans in dirt, each preschooler placed their bean in a bag with 3 wet cotton balls. Each day, the students observed and documented any changes in their bean. After a week of being in a bag, we then transferred the beans to a cup with dirt! We made our very own bird feeders! We put cereal on string, and hung them outside on our courtyard's tree! We have been checking them during recess to see if any bird friends have eaten the cereal. We had quite the St. Patrick's day here in Preschool 2! We arrived to school on St. Patrick's day to find our room in shambles! We had a leprechaun visit our room and leave quite a mess. But he also left us a special treat, some gold coins! Happy St. Patrick's Day! In honor of St. Patrick's Day, we decided to build our very own leprechaun traps! These preschoolers worked together using various classroom items to try to build a trap for a leprechaun! They turned out awesome.
