This week, we read the Halloween story "Room on the Broom." Then today, we watched the "Room on the Broom" movie! We also ate a tasty popcorn snack and pretended we were at the movie theater. After watching the movie, we compared and contrasted the book to the movie! Happy Halloween!
Yesterday at school, we carved open our class pumpkin! We all got a chance to feel the "pumpkin guts" and seeds. We also counted the seeds. There were 160 seeds in our pumpkin! Now, our pumpkin is sitting in or science center for students to study/explore. Such preschool pumpkin fun!
This was our first week of attending mass on Wednesday with the school! Before attending, Father Dan was kind enough to give us a tour of the church with our 8th grade buddies!
Today, we got out very own class pumpkin! We are so excited. We are going to have a week filled with "pumpkin investigations" where we study and experiment with our pumpkin. To begin, today we all touched and felt the outside of our pumpkin, observed it with our eyes, and then drew what the pumpkin looked like. Later in the week, we will be measuring the pumpkin, and then eventually carving it open to feel the inside and count the seeds!
The past few days at school, we've been talking about the season Fall and how the leaves change colors and fall off of the trees. Today, we went on a leaf hunt around the neighborhood to collect our own leaves! We found so many beautiful leaves. Tomorrow, we will sort them by color and also use them for some art activities!
To celebrate the beginning of October, we made our own pumpkins! We made them using a paper plate, tiny orange square, different face shapes, and of course, glue! Come check out our "Preschool Pumpkin Patch" hanging up in the hallway.
We have been using marbles this week for a few different activities! First, we painted using marbles, paint, and a box! The paintings turned out amazing. We also had a "marble run" open in our science center! Students were given a box filled with supplies to create their own marble run. Their creations were incredible!
