This week in preschool, we got 4 class fish! The kids were so excited. We made a class poster about how to take care of our fish, and then we took a class vote on names for our fish. In the end, our fish were named Baby Poncho, Li'l Sebastian, Dory and Nemo. Our fish tank helpers have been in charge of feeding our fish this week, and have been doing a great job! After naming our fish, we read the book "The Rainbow Fish." After reading the story, we painted our very own rainbow fish! We had a fun, fish filled day!

This week in preschool, we were introduced to our classroom's musical instruments! The students were invited to explore and experiment with the instruments, and they also learned the names of all of them. These preschoolers rock!
This week in Preschool, we have been reading books and talking about families! We also made our very own Family Trees! We talked about how everyone's family tree is different, but that everyone has their own special family tree. Come on in and take a peek at our class's family trees! Since we have been reading and focusing on "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" this week, we decided to experiment with a coconut, just like the ones from the coconut tree in the book! As preschool scientists, we made guesses on whether or not we thought the coconut would sink or float in water, recorded our guesses, and then tested it out! After experimenting, we came to the conclusion that coconuts float in water! After experimenting, the preschool scientists also got to taste some of the coconut water from inside of our coconut! Science is fun, and delicious! Over the past 2 weeks, we have been reading the book, "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" and doing many corresponding activities. While reading this book, we really focused on letter recognition, as well as learning how to spell and write our own names. We also have a favorite "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" song that we sing every day. I put the link to the video below. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhKmoI97X34
Our classroom centers are in full swing! Our centers include: Blocks, Dramatic Play, Library, Art, Writing, Science, Table Toys, and Puzzles. These preschoolers are loving what centers have to offer so far!
Father Dan came and blessed our students, teachers, staff, and classrooms! We are so lucky and excited for an amazing school year.
