On Thursday, Santa came and visited our classroom! Each of the preschoolers got to sit with Santa, and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Santa also gave everyone a special present to take home! What a special and memorable day.

These preschoolers did such a great job in our Christmas program! It was such a wonderful and joyous night. On December 20th, we went on an all-school field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry! Some of us even got to ride on a school bus for the very first time! The students got to explore the museum together, as well as look at the Christmas Around the World Exhibit. We loved seeing the Finland Christmas tree after studying Finland's Christmas traditions! What an amazing experience. (Parents: If you have any more field trip photos, feel free to email them to me at [email protected] and I will add them to our site!) Today in preschool, we took a class vote on which Christmas treat we like better, Gingerbread men cookies or candy canes. Each student (and teacher) chose their favorite, and wrote their name on our class chart. We counted the names and in the end, candy canes was the winner! We then taste tested the treats. Yum!
Today in Preschool, we built our own Christmas tree using green cups! Our goal was to work together to try and build as tall of a tree as we could. Each preschooler added their own cup to the tree, and the students used team work to create our very own Preschool Christmas tree! Then, the cups were available in the blocks center for the preschoolers to continue to try and build the tallest Christmas tree.
This week in preschool, we made our own hot cocoa mugs out of construction paper, glitter, and real marshmallows! They are hanging outside of our classroom. Then, we decided to try some real hot chocolate with marshmallows! Yum.
With our first winter snowfall, we decided to collect snow from outside of Epiphany and experiment with it! The preschoolers got to touch and feel the snow, as well as paint on it with watercolors. Let it snow!
With the cold weather upon us, what better way to stay warm than with our own classroom fireplace? Ms. Lucy at Epiphany was so kind and built our class a fireplace! The preschoolers have been using it in our dramatic play center, and we also like to get cozy and read stories by it. So fun!
These turkeys did a terrific job at their Thanksgiving Program! They worked so hard learning all of their Thanksgiving songs over the past few weeks, and sang so beautifully! What a fun day.
For Election Day, we read a book about voting, and we also had our very own Preschool Election Day! We voted on which cookies we liked best, Oreos vs. Chocolate Chip. It was a close race, but in the end, Oreos won!
